The last few months have been incredibly hectic. Between work, travel, and odd projects around the house, there isn’t enough time in the day (and night) to accomplish everything on my list. Unfortunately after all the tasks are done for the day, the last thing I desire to do is sit even longer on the computer and wade through photo upon photo to try to finish some long overdue posts. So that basically explains the horrid infrequency of new entries on the blog, and for that I’m sorry. And yet another weekend away from home, this time it’s a last minute trip to NYC to celebrate a very special birthday. And on that note, here are some snapshots from last year’s visit that I never got around to posting.
And oh, by the way, happy birthday, sweetheart!

welcome back! oh this pictures are so beautiful and bring back so many memories. My sister used to live in the upper west side and I would visit her several times a year and although I am not much of a city girl I loved NYC, especially in the summer and fall.
Love your photography, Rick. The photo with the leaves and the first of the emergency fire stairs are especially attention-grabbing for me. Thank you for sharing them with us and love to see your posts whenever you do find the time.
Finally updated the blog, eh? Just kidding! More great pics from a great guy! Love the yellow leaves, bridge over building, and self-portrait shots. Who am I kidding? I love all your shots, dude! Hope you two had fun on this recent trip.
Great pictures! Love the color tone, the composition and the subject.
Pero qué fotos. Si es que uno se enamora de un ambiente que ni siquiera existe cuando tú lo inventas con la cámara.
Absolutamente brillantes.

Your shots are always so evocative, thanks for this alternative snapshot into NYC! Do you use a particular software to achieve the matte/slightly desaturated look or is everything done in photoshop/lightroom?
thanks for all the wonderful comments. for those who asked, i shoot with a canon 5D and use lightroom/photoshop for post processing.
